THE TRACKADEMICKS DISCOGRAPHY*
*currently a WIP
Trackademicks is a multi-hyphenate artist whose music can be found all over the interwebs (Spotify, Tidal, Soundcloud, Youtube, Discogs, you name it...) BUT there’s no complete discography on any one of those platforms, until TRAX.
Developing the brand identity for Trackademicks was a mission in synthesizing
(all pun intended this guy is an actual synth whiz)
the future vintage producer identity with California yay area town biz outdoor backpacker self, a vibe he calls:
TIME 2 GET INSPO
Research & inspiration go hand in hand as I use this time to brainstorm wildly and gather influences from all over.
For this project, I took a time machine back to the ‘90s (with some splashes of tomorrow) to get that throwback free-spirited, outdoor living California kid vibe on lock.
Sketching, doodling, and just trying things out is the way to get started. The key being to not hold back, not try to filter too much, and not be too concerned with what the final outcome could be. Major editing decisions will come later, but for now, lay the ideas out. Here’s a few.
The goal was to create a brand identity (the ’TA MTN’) that can have an original/staple colorway, but can be updated & interchanged for different seasons or reasons. It can be scaled up & down, and used with or without Trackademicks or Trax text.
LOGO IN USE
The future of the TA MTN logo can be used on all products related to Trackademicks to build brand recognition and a strong visual identity.
Today’s independent artist relies on capturing audience attention on whatever platform they’re at. For many artists, this is exhausting and results often in homogenous info everywhere and a lack of ‘exclusive’ content, or simply, missing information and an expectation that a fan is following them on all accounts. With this dilemma, we developed the guiding question:
How might we design a site that contains THE definitive Trackademicks complete discography in one place, along with links to DL & purchase?
Stay tuned for further updates on the TRAX site & project.
